Is it Time to Lookup Your Cell Phone Number?
It did not occur to me that I had given my friend my husband’s cell phone number until it happened a second time. “Why does she keep calling you instead of me?” I asked. My husband said that she seemed to think that he was talking on my cell phone. Then I remembered spouting the numbers off by heart. I had given her the wrong numbers. My brain was just programmed to associate with my husband’s number when I thought of cell phone numbers.
Of course, I called my friend to correct my mistake, but I realized that I had absolutely no idea what my cell phone number really is. I went through the numbers in my head, but I honestly could not think of the right combination. As scary as this may seem, it does make perfect sense. My husband actually did not know my number either. He has my cell phone number programmed into his phone. He simply says my name, the phone starts ringing, and I pick up. He has not had to physically dial or lookup my cell phone number in probably over a year.
I called my friend at her home using my cell phone the other day. I told her that I needed her to check the caller ID and let me know what my cell phone number is so I could write it down. She laughed and told me that I already have that information in my cell phone and could simply lookup my cell phone number. I then explained to her that she could save me a lot of time and aggravation by just giving me the number herself. Sometimes I believe it is easier to do things the old fashioned way. So I just added my cell phone number to my address book. You never know when you may need it some time in the future.
